A Story of Two
We are Frank and Constanza Achenbach a German-Chilean young winemaker couple, settled in the beautiful Wonsheim, that is a small and quiet village in the middle of Rheinhessen, where we produce our wines for many years and generations, dedicating love and passion to our vineyards and wines.
We meet us in New Zealand in 2013 and we were working in different countries from Australia, South Africa, Italy and etc. Since 2014 we make our small but very diverse collection for individual and powerful wines with enormous storage Potential. Weingut Achenbach is a small Family Winery and a very strong Team, together we can do all the jobs every new day. We have a lot of fun and we love what we do!

Our mission is: “Work with nature with minimal intervention, let our vineyards show us what they want, because every year is different and we want to see the expression of the terroir in our wines.” That is what makes them unique and special. Soils are important and climate is critical. That is why the work and the harvest by hand are very important, because only then can we feel and understand what our vineyards really need. That is our vocation! Our vineyards are located around our town (Wonsheim); and we are lucky to have different types of soils, because 28 million years ago where our vineyards are today was an ocean and everything was covered with water. We have a microclimate between a thousand hills, where we find warm days and cool nights which allows us to have the fresh air flows and keep a crunchy acidity in our grapes.

The year is busy and complicated, and everything is captured in a bottle. We have one year in one glass of wine with: sun, rain, earth and fertility, diligence and determination, patience and courage …Wine is our life, our love, our passion.
