Our Passion: Wine

Bordone Giuseppe’s winery is located in Piedmont, in the North West of Italy, in a small town called Monta’, which lays in an area known as Roero. Its name comes from an ancient lineage of earls and the landscape here appears as a wide stretch of hills, called Rocche. The terrain here has a peculiar colour, ranging from yellow to ochre, due to the presence of sand and sea fossils, which can still be found in the soil today. This land has always been voted to wine cultivation and, as a matter of fact, there are documents which state the presence of the Arneis grape variety at the beginning of the XIV century, as well as Nebbiolo, which dates back to the end of the 400s.
Our company owns and farms 14 hectares of vineyard and our constant focus is enhancing the great potentiality of our autochthonous grapes. Our incomparable viticulture begins from the soil and develops through the selection of the best grapes, together with hard work, to produce the best possible wines.
The union of tradition and high-tech innovation is what leads us to perfection. Our family has been making wine for six generations, but our production has been on the market only for the past four. My great grand-father Francesco was the first to make wine both for family consumption and for selling. At that stage, the target market was mainly limited to the areas closest to where he lived, within a range of 30-40 km, and he sold his products both to private customers as well as small village inns. Later on, thanks to more innovative modes of transport and slightly larger economic funds, my grandfather Giuseppe managed to expand the company’s sales to the rest of Piedmont, continuing to sell our wines directly to customers or to village restaurants and shops. The following generation, my father Vittore and my uncle Franco’s, strongly believed in this small enterprise, which little by little was constantly growing. Therefore, in a short period of time, they were able to widen their market: first on a national level, then towards the rest of the continent and finally to customers outside the European borders. This was also possible thanks to our wines first appearances at international fairs such as Vinitaly. Now that the fourth generation is in charge, my cousin Dyana and I, Alex, have set the goal to devote more and more attention to our vineyard, in order to obtain a product of the highest quality and, as a result, high quality wines. We firmly believe this is our golden ticket to get more and more people, all over the word, to get acquainted with us and our passion: wine.
