Dear Wine Enthusiast,
Before I share how the idea of Wood Wine Imports started, let me share with you a little bit of my journey into the world of wines.
My daughter and I emigrated from Peru to the United States on February 14^th, 1999. Excited, yet nervous, we set roots in the beautiful city of New York. Like most immigrants, I immediately started to seek for jobs and career opportunities. In 2004, I came across a job posting looking for an assistant to a sommelier. The owner was a Sommelier and he introduced me to the vast world of wines.
Over time, I came to realize that working in the wine industry did not really feel like “work”. It had become a passion of mine. For me, wine is not just an item you sell. There is so much more to appreciate – from the color and flavor to its origins and the reflection of their producers. One winter night, I realized that the market was changing and between his enthusiasm for wine and my passion that had evolved over 15 years of experience, we felt that we could help satisfy the needs of the growing wine-consuming market. And thus, Wine Wood Imports was born.
Wood Wine Imports specializes in wines from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Spain. We have also decided to round out our portfolio with select wines from Italy and Germany. Most recently, we have added an exclusive line from California.
For us, Wood Wine Imports is the result of many years of dedication to the world of wines. We hope you can enjoy the fruits of our labor!
