Las Perdices, Spanish for partridges, a winery located in the heart of Mendoza, Argentina’s wine capital, surpassed our high expectations. We knew right away that we had to bring such premium quality wines to the cosmopolitan people of New York City and its surrounding areas. Today, Wood Wine Imports has the exclusive distribution of the Las Perdices wines in New and New Jersey.
The Perdices Winery traces its roots back to the early 1950s when its forefather, Juan, arrived In Mendoza from Andalusia, Spain to cultivate grapes. Juan taught his descendants that hard work is above recognition and that the land’s rhythm of tillage is the ultimate virtue. Guided by this mantra, in 2004, Juan’s two sons went one step further and built a winery to produce complex and opulent wines that honor their family’s tradition while seeking to innovate. In April of that same year, the brothers founded Las Perdices winery in the heart of their beloved Agrelo, land to the partridges, a bird that symbolizes true love and the commitment to build a home with effort and passion; and that inspired the winery’s name.
Las Perdices is today a small-production winery that sticks to creating wines with an utmost respect for the natural qualities of the Grapes and special concern with the sustainability of the environment. The results have been premium wines where the flavors balance each other.
